Recognizing that we are getting on in years, we planned a shorter Camino for this year, with shorter distances, shorter hills and shorter falls for me. Our plan is to follow the Caminho Portugues from Porto to Santiago de Compostela along the traditional central route and then make a left-hand turn and walk to the end of the world, i.e., Fisterra and Muxia. In 2014, we had walked from Lisbon to Santiago but that challenging Lisbon to Porto section is best left to more agile, young pilgrims, either young in age or young in spirit.

Our Camino route
Porto > Rates > Barcelos > Ponte de Lima > Tui > Redondela > Pontevedra > Caldas de Reís > Padron > Santiago > Fisterra / Muxia.
